General info
UPENET (UPGRADE
European NETwork) is the network of
publications, paper or electronic,
from CEPIS
(Council of European Professional
Informatics Societies) member societies. It was created in April 2004.
With UPGRADE, The European Journal for the Informatics
Professional, as its
anchor point, the main purpose of UPENET
is to make available to the Information and Communication Technology
communities (professional, academic, business, government), mainly in Europe but also
worldwide, the wealth of knowledge and
experience accumulated by CEPIS
member societies' publications, as well as to foster cooperation among
them.
To this
end UPGRADE republishes, in
English,
in its section UPENET, articles from the syndicated
publications, while these can republish, in their
own languages, articles published in UPGRADE and in any of the syndicated
publications.
